Lake of Horror – Poetry

Icy blue in color,
Chilled water to signify presence of death.
Deep in depth,
All the way to drag you down.

The light breeze played with the surface,
Tickling and whispering as it blew.

It was but a lake of horror,
For it kept close to it’s heart,
A hundred bodies down on the bed.

Souls of the people fluttered away,
In pain, In grief.

Fragment of a complex plan,
Drifted out across this silent night.

This lake attempted to cover it all,
Lifting the veil of lies as we walk.
